Supporting Wall is an independent production company based in London. The company was founded in 2008 by producers Ben Monks and Will Young, and its work spans new writing and commissions as well as general management and tour booking for a range of artists, venues and producers.
Recent Supporting Wall productions include the world premieres of Philip Ridley's Tender Napalm (Southwark Playhouse, April - May 2011) and Moonfleece (London and tour, March - April 2010), Election Drama (May 2010) and the 2010 JMK award-winning production of Brecht's The Jewish Wife (BAC, July - August 2010). Supporting Wall provides general management, PR and marketing and tour booking services to artists and producers in the UK. Recent clients include choreographer Frauke Requardt's Episode, produced by The Place (London, UK & European tour), the Birds Eye View Film Festival's Sound & Silents commissions (London & UK tour), award-winning storyteller Rachel Rose Reid (UK and Australia tours), Rebecca Peyton's Sometimes I Laugh Like My Sister (UK tour), theatre ad infinitum's Odyssey, and work with the Blue Elephant, Pleasance and Red Lion Theatres. In Spring 2009 Ben and Will were jointly awarded the SOLT/TMA Stage One Bursary for New Producers to pursue their work with Supporting Wall. The company was nominated for the OffWestEnd "Offie" award for Best Producer in 2010 and 2011, with The Jewish Wife and Tender Napalm also nominated for a total of five awards including best actor, best actress and best direction. |
